The department was organized in 1887 and continues to serve the Citizens of Streator proudly. The department has grown over the years to employ 15 full-time firefighters. The Streator Fire Department’s mission is to preserve the life and property of the City of Streator and its residents through the prevention and suppression of fires and through public education.
