WKAR Folk Radio is a National Public Radio affiliate station located in East Lansing, Michigan, on the banks of the Red Cedar. The station is known for its programming of classical music and public radio entertainment, as well as its dedication to folk music. Hosted by Michigan folk legend Matt Watroba, the station's Folk Sampler program features a range of acoustic folk, blues, bluegrass, and traditional music, and has been airing from the foothills of the Ozarks since 1978. In addition to the Folk Sampler, WKAR also airs popular NPR news programs such as Morning Edition and All Things Considered, as well as over 110 hours of classical music each week.
