KKBJ Talk Radio 1360 AM is Bemidji, Minnesota’s leading talk radio station, serving the area since 1990. R.P. Broadcasting, founded by Roger Paskvan, began with the purchase of WBJI Radio in 1990 and expanded to include KKBJ-AM and KKBJ-FM in 1994. With 20 employees, R.P. Broadcasting continues to provide entertainment and news to the Bemidji area. Roger Paskvan's passion for radio began in Grand Forks, where he worked as chief engineer at KNOX radio and later served as consultant engineer for KKBJ. In 1990, R.P. Broadcasting successfully obtained an FM broadcast license, leading to the construction of the radio station above the existing two-way building. WBJI first broadcast in September 1991, initially featuring an oldies format, utilizing a 500 ft tower for broadcasting.
