Avondale Community Radio

Avondale Community Radio, located in Avondale, Michigan, is a dynamic and engaging radio station broadcasting on 89.5 FM (WAHS). Established in November 1975, Avondale Community Radio delivers a diverse variety format to the local community. Serving as a vital public service and educational resource, the station supports students at Avondale High School, providing a valuable learning experience. Since 2016, WAHS has expanded its programming to include both locally produced content and nationally syndicated shows, alongside dedicated Avondale sports coverage. Recognized for excellence, Avondale Community Radio received the Michigan Association of Broadcasters award for High School Radio Station of the Year in 2017.
