KNXR went on the air December 24, 1965 at 97.5 MHz on the FM dial in Rochester, Minnesota with Tom Jones as co-owner. After 50 years of service, Mr. Jones and his company sold the station in 2015. Soon after that, he began streaming the same music on the Internet, branded as "97Five."

The best variety of music anywhere on the net
SO HAPPY to see Tom is now streaming the music he played on his former station. I spoke with him some years ago about doing this when he was still the owner after I had moved out of state, but now it's here for everyone to enjoy! Thank you, Tom, for your kindness and willingness to continue to make a dark world a brighter place, you really do make a difference in the lives of those who appreciate "real" music.
