Originally established as Radio Heffalump and later Radio Glen, Surge – now operating as Surge Radio – has a rich history dating back to 1976. As the UK’s longest-running student radio station, Surge Radio is owned and funded by the University of Southampton Students’ Union and celebrated its 40th birthday in 2016.
