Radio Caroline

Radio Caroline is the UK’s premier pirate radio station, broadcasting from England since 1964. Launched by Ronan O’Rahilly as a protest against record company monopolies, Radio Caroline initially operated as an offshore pirate station from a 702-ton passenger ferry. Known as Caroline, the station became immensely popular, famously sponsored by figures like George Harrison at various points. Today, Radio Caroline broadcasts on 648kHz AM to the east of England and on DAB+ in locations including Aldershot/Woking, Norwich, Portsmouth, Glasgow, Birmingham, Brighton, and London.
