Desi Radio

Desi Radio is a vibrant community radio station based in England, UK, dedicated to celebrating and promoting Panjabi culture. Originating from the word ‘Des’ meaning a specific space or homeland – for us, Panjab, the Land of the Five Rivers – the station provides a platform to discuss Panjabi practices, customs, and traditions, fostering a deeper understanding of this rich culture. Desi Radio’s aim is to encourage positive transformation and change within society. As a community station staffed by dedicated volunteers, many trained by The Panjabi Centre, Desi Radio was established in May 2002 as part of the British Government’s community radio initiative.
