Universidade FM is Vila Real’s premier community radio station, broadcasting from the heart of Portugal. Established in 1986, the station began as a community project originating from a former DRM studio in Vila Real. Since 1989, Universidade FM has operated with a full broadcast license, serving the city of Vila Real. Currently, the station’s vibrant studios are located within the Residências Universitárias da UTAD, offering a central location in Vila Real, near the Parque da Cidade and Teatro de Vila Real.
