IRIB Radio Quran

Radio Quran is a leading Iranian radio station broadcasting from Tehran, Iran. Established in 1962 by decree of Ayatollah Khomeini, Radio Quran was initially founded to meet the growing need for Quranic knowledge and Islamic teachings following the 1979 Iranian Revolution. Initially operating with three hours of daily programming focused on Quran recitation, the station expanded its offerings in the late 1980s to include educational and interpretive Islamic content. In 1998, Radio Quran transitioned into a 24-hour global network. Recognizing the importance of reaching a broad audience, the station developed a diverse programming approach that has cemented its position as the #1 specialty radio station in Iran in terms of audience engagement. Currently led by Head of Station, Ahmad Abolqasemi, Radio Quran provides continuous Quranic recitation, Islamic lectures, and insightful discussions for listeners worldwide.
