Radio Baranja

Radio Baranja is a Croatian internet radio station broadcasting from Osječko-Baranjska, Hrvatska. Established in 1992, the station began as a clandestine broadcast from Osijek during the Croatian War of Independence, originating from the basement of the Lower Town with minimal equipment. Originally known as Hrvatski radio Baranja, it was founded by a team of displaced Baranjci, including Dario Jagarinac, to serve the local community and provide vital news and information to the displaced population. Over its 30-year history, Radio Baranja has been a crucial source of news and information for approximately 20,000 displaced Baranjci, particularly the soldiers of the 135th Baranja Brigade and Baranja Police, who defended the northern front of Osijek. The station’s evolution saw the addition of talent from Zagreb’s Radio 101 and experienced journalists, technicians, and presenters. Radio Baranja played a significant role during the reintegration process and continues to serve the community with local news, entertainment, and a connection to the region's history.
